Visit SRT
Since 2011, even before its inauguration, the Sardinia Radio Telescope has periodically opened for public and school visits.
The visit is free and includes an indoor explanation at our Visitor Center, followed, weather permitting, by an outdoor walk where you can admire the telescope up close. Entry into the radio telescope or its use for observations is not allowed under any circumstances.
The visit lasts about an hour and a half and is conducted by researchers, technicians, and communicators from the Astronomical Observatory of
Cagliari, who can explain the project and all related curiosities.
For organizational, transparency, and data management reasons, it is NOT possible to book visits via email or phone. The only way to book is by filling out the appropriate form available at the following link, where you can easily find the currently available dates:
GENERAL WARNINGS
Wear closed and comfortable shoes. Currently, the Visitor Center premises do not have refreshment points (there are no bars or vending machines), so if you need to eat or drink during the visit, you must bring your own food and beverages.

1) SAFETY.
A document regarding safety regulations for visitors at OAC is available at the present link. It contains guidelines and recommendations for safeguarding the health and safety of both our staff and anyone else visiting the Astronomical Observatory of Cagliari.
By registering for any activity or participating in any event organized by OAC, the visitor implicitly declares to have read and accepted it in all its parts.
2) AUDIO, VIDEO, AND PHOTOGRAPHIC RECORDINGS.
Attendees at events, as part of the audience, consent and authorize any present and future use of any audio and video recordings, as well as photographs that may be taken, by booking.
In particular, it is reminded to all those booking activities for minors that by booking, they consent and authorize any present and future use of any audio and video recordings, as well as photographs that may be taken of children and teenagers during the scheduled events.
It is specified that any recordings are purely for documenting the activities carried out.
