LIA Workshops 2015

During the AstrinLuce event, educational workshops will be offered for children of all ages.
Below is a list of the proposed workshops:
- “Hunting for Comets!“, target age 8-12 years. Led by Silvia Casu and Alessia Zurru (Cultural Association Science Lab)
What are comets? And what are they made of? Why do they have two different tails? Do they really bring bad luck? Comets may be minor bodies of the Solar System, but they have always sparked great interest. An interest so strong that it led to a long space mission dedicated to their study. Through videos, images, small exhibits, and some experiments, we discover the nature of comets.

Games and experiments to discover the true nature of light, its visible and invisible colors, its properties, and its interactions with objects.

- “The Invisible Universe“, target age 8-12 years. Led by Silvia Casu and Sabrina Milia
What do a television and a microwave oven have in common? And a cellphone and the Sardinia Radio Telescope? A workshop to discover all the various types of light, visible and invisible, that we use daily and that provide us with valuable information about the Universe. A journey through “images” made with invisible light to discover the instruments.
