The OAC will participate with various initiatives in the 16th edition of the National Astronomy Week, promoted by the MIUR and organized by the Italian Astronomical Society (SAIt), in collaboration with the National Institute of Astrophysics (INAF). This edition will take place from April 13 to 20 and will focus on the theme of light in all its manifestations. This theme was chosen because 2015 was proclaimed by UNESCO as the “International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies”.
Throughout Italy, numerous events and initiatives will be held during the week, all of INAF’s can be found on this page.

The National Astronomy Week will conclude with the national finals of the Italian Astronomy Olympiad, which will be held in Modena from April 18 to 20. Among the finalists will be Marco Malandrone, from the Michelangelo Scientific High School in Cagliari, who ranked first in the interregional competition for Sardinia. In addition to congratulating him for his performance and commitment, as well as all other participants in our interregional phase for creating a splendid competition, we also want to wish Marco a big “good luck” for the finals!
