The 12th European VLBI Network Symposium and Users Meeting will be held in Cagliari from October 7 to 10, 2014, organized by the Astronomical Observatory of Cagliari and the Institute of Radio Astronomy of Bologna as part of the Radionet1 program activities.
During the meeting, which will be attended by over 130 astronomers and technologists from around the world, the latest results and technological developments of the VLBI network will be presented, particularly the e-VLBI and space-VLBI (RadioAstron) projects. Synergies with other broad-scope radio astronomy programs will also be discussed.
The meeting will also be an opportunity to discuss the recent successful tests of the Sardinia Radio Telescope joining the EVN network.
The EVN users meeting will also take place during the symposium.
The Symposium program is packed with scientific and social events. In particular, in addition to the approximately seventy seminars included in the Symposium program, there will be a visit for all participants to the Sardinia Radio Telescope,omega replica watches preceded by a tour with local product tasting in the Gerrei area. The traditional Symposium soccer match will also be played at the University Student Center (CUS) in Cagliari. The Symposium will conclude with all participants gathering for the conference’s Social Dinner, which will be held at the elegant Panoramic Restaurant, located on the eighth floor of the Hotel Panorama in Cagliari.
