The day of the interregional test of the Astronomy Olympiad is approaching for the three Sardinian students who passed the preselection phase in November: on Monday, February 17, the students will compete in a series of astronomy exercises, simultaneously with other regions of Italy, with the goal of advancing to the national phase, which will take place on April 13 in Syracuse.
Emanuela Gamboni (Scientific High School E. Lussu, Sant’Antioco), Daniele Spano (Scientific High School G. Marconi, Sassari) and Marcello Marcello (Scientific High School Michelangelo, Cagliari) are therefore summoned on February 17, 2014 at the new location of the Astronomical Observatory of Cagliari, via della Scienza 5, Selargius, at 2:00 PM for participant identification procedures; the test will start at 2:30 PM simultaneously at all Italian locations and will last 2 and a half hours.
We remind the students that on the official website of the Italian Astronomy Olympiad they can find materials and past tests to prepare.
