Following the recent praise for the development initiatives undertaken by the Region of Sardinia and the University of Cagliari expressed by Professor Piccirillo, the ministerial envoy for the final evaluation of the Sardinia Radio Telescope Project (pictured is a moment from the inauguration ceremony), the Region of Sardinia reaffirms its important role in the project over the past years.
This is done with a letter sent by the President of RAS Francesco Pigliaru to the Minister of Education, University and Research Stefania Giannini and copied to the President of INAF Giovanni Bignami, expressing firm opposition to the merger and the unilateral method adopted by the INAF President and Board.
