The national finals of the Astronomy Olympics 2016 will be held at the IIS “Cremona” (Scientific and Technical High School) in Milan.
On April 19, 20, and 21, the 41 finalists, boys and girls from schools all over Italy, will compete in two categories: junior and senior. Our very own, yet still very young, Riccardo Lodo from Liceo Scientifico Statale “Pitagora” in Selargius (CA) will be part of the latter category.
Riccardo faced the interregional test held at the Cagliari Astronomical Observatory (INAF-OAC) last February 22, along with seven other students from all over Sardinia (read the article here).
We want to congratulate all of them and, of course, Riccardo in particular, to whom we also wish the best of luck for the national finals.
The student from Selargius won’t be alone in Milan. Sabrina Milia, a researcher at INAF-OAC, has been called to be part of the national jury, so Sardinia will also have a recognized scientific authority ensuring the success of the finals in Milan.
