Discovered only fifty years ago, pulsars continue to spark discussion in the astronomical scientific community. From Wednesday, May 15 to Friday, May 17, 2019, the leading international experts in this exciting field of astrophysics will discuss them in Cagliari.

In particular, the current state of the art and available scientific publications on “pulsar timing” will be updated, highlighting these highly regular objects’ ability to provide valuable insights into time measurement and their role as “cosmic clocks.”

The scientific committee (SOC) includes Andrea Possenti, a senior researcher and former director of the INAF Astronomical Observatory of Cagliari, and Delphine Perrodin, a French researcher recently naturalized as Italian. The local organizing committee (LOC) consists of researchers Alessandro Corongiu and Marta Burgay, both specialized and well-known for their research on pulsars, assisted by Tiziana Coiana, an administrator at INAF.

Pulsars are certainly not an easily understandable topic, but it will be possible to attend some of the presentations by contacting the staff directly at the email alessandro.corongiu@inaf.it or through the event’s dedicated website:
