A supermassive black hole plunging towards a galaxy cluster at the extraordinary speed of several million kilometers per hour: the first scientific result of SRT confirms the exceptional quality of its instrumentation and scientific team.
The first scientific result produced by the Early Science Program of the Sardinia Radio Telescope has been published on The Astronomers Telegram. It concerns an observation of X transients detected last week by an international team led by Elise Egron of INAF - OAC.

Results of the technical commissioning of SRT published
The INAF Board of Directors once again grants OAC and IRA Bologna the status of second-level structures. Andrea Possenti is the new interim director of OAC.
On April 18, 19, and 20, 2016, 41 students from all over Italy will compete in the highly anticipated final in Milan. Representing Sardinia will be Riccardo Lodo from the "Pitagora" Scientific High School in Selargius.
