SKA1 Project Status Update

The SKA1 project is aiming to start the construction of the telescope in July this year. This milestone is only one of the many important milestones achieved in the last very dense couple of years, including the creation, in Feb this year, of the SKAO, the intergovernmental organisation that will run the Observatory for the next 50 years. The talk will go quickly through the latest important milestones of the project and it will usher you what is next. In a few words, new challenges and new opportunities.
Brief CV of Dr. Luca Stringhetti:
Luca Stringhetti graduated in Physics from the University of Milan. After an initial 8-year experience in antenna design for the broadcasting industry, for the past 18 years he has had the privilege of being involved in various projects covering roles such as Systems Engineer, Commissioning Manager, or Technical Coordinator. These projects include the Planck LFI mission, the Atomic Clock in Space (ACES), the Technical Commissioning of SRT, and the prototype of the Small Telescope for the CTA project. He currently serves as the SKA1 Project Engineer at the SKAO Headquarters in the United Kingdom.
