The Sardinian Amateur Astronomers Association (AAS), founded in 1973 as a non-profit organization, aims to connect all astronomy enthusiasts, promoting initiatives and cultural exchanges to spread interest and knowledge of astronomical sciences and the observation of celestial phenomena. Through practical astronomy activities, collaborating with schools, public bodies, and cultural associations operating in the Sardinia Region, AAS seeks to contribute to the basic scientific education of citizens of all ages, as well as to promote activities and initiatives suitable for spreading environmental protection needs, with particular attention to the issue of light pollution. In this context, the past and future collaboration of AAS with the Cagliari Astronomical Observatory is a unique opportunity to carry out joint initiatives, aimed at anyone fascinated by the night sky and wanting to learn more about Astronomy.
