With the launch of the agreement between CINECA and INAF, and the release of the call for requests for (super)computing time, the possibility of obtaining respectable resources in a relatively simple manner has been (re)opened. In this informal chat, I will illustrate the agreement that has been signed and how things should (hopefully) work for INAF researchers/technologists
who use supercomputing on all scales, from ‘small’ (up to 1 million core hours) to large (over 1 million core hours), and the new separate category of ‘Flagship’ projects. INAF will have 55 million computing hours to allocate and use: not a single one should go unused!
