Nichi D'Amico is the new INAF president!
The Italian Minister of Research, University and Education, Stefania Giannini, appointed the new INAF president: Nichi D'Amico will replace Nanni Bignami to lead INAF for the coming few years.
Nichi D'Amico is a Full professor in the Physics Department of Cagliari University, was for 8 years Director of the Cagliari Observatory, was Director of the Sardinia Radio Telescope until last december, and has a remarkable scientific curriculum.
He certainly has all of the credentials to best lead our institute.
Reached by phone, D'Amico has expressed "strong excitement, appreciation and gratitude for the choice of the Minister, but also concerns about the difficult task".
Congratulations to the new President and good luck for the important job!
