The formation and evolution of galaxies are governed by the continuous flow of gas in & out of the system. Galaxies accrete fresh gas from the environment, convert it into stars, and release enriched material into the ISM via stellar winds, supernovae explosions, and AGN feedback. I will present multiwavelength observational studies to characterise the galaxy baryon cycle and test galaxy formation models. In particular I will focus on (1) the connection between cold gas, dust and star-formation activity, exploiting the synergy between millimetre observations and optical spectroscopy (e.g., the ALMAQUEST survey), and (2) the demographics of multi-phase galactic outflows at both low and high z, using optical and NIR spectroscopy (e.g., the KLEVER survey).

Breve CV della Dr. Alice Concas:

Alice Concas attualmente occupa una posizione fellow all'European Southern Observatory (ESO), facendo ricerca nel campo della formazione ed evoluzione delle galassie. Ha completato i suoi studi triennali e magistrali all'Università di Bologna nel 2013 e ha conseguito il suo Ph.D. in astronomia all'Excellence Cluster Universe and Technical University of Munich, Germania, nel 2018. Durante io periodo 2019-2020, è stata ricercatrice postdoc al Kavli Institute for Cosmology dell'Università di Cambridge, Regno Unito.Dopo un breve postdoc all'Università di Firenze, è entrata a far parte di ESO nel 2021, dove è coinvolta nello sviluppo dell'Extremely Large Telescope.
