Jets in accreting black-hole binaries
I will discuss a number of aspects of observations and theory of jets in black-hole binaries. After an overall review, I will cover some results obtained for the parameters, composition, power and alignment of the jets in MAXI J1820+070, Cyg X-1, Cyg X-3 and GRS 1915+105.
Brief CV of Prof. Dr. Dr. Andrzej A. Zdziarski:
Andrzej A. Zdziarski obtained his M.A. with Prof. Bohdan PaczyÒski at Warsaw University in 1979 and Phd with Prof. Alan Lightman at Harvard in 1986. In 1986-87 he was a postdoc at Caltech, and then Assistant Astronomer at the Space Telescope Science Institute until 1990. Since 1991 he has been at the N. Copernicus Astronomical Center in Warsaw, first as an Associate Professor and, since 1995, as a Professor. His main research interests are high energy astrophysics, X-ray binary systems and active galactic nuclei. His recent work has been on innermost accretion flows and jets in black-hole binaries, blazars and radio galaxies.
