The Gerrei Astrofest was born as a pilot project to test the potential, the interest and the effectiveness of astronomical outreach events in the territory that hosts SRT.
In this Astrochiacchiere the reasons and the genesis of this idea together with a quick report of how the Gerrei Astrofest went will be presented. But above all, we could discuss together on the future of this festival, to understand if the conditions for making it as a permanent project by the Astronomical Observatory of Cagliari exist.
