Extragalactic Radioastronomy
The Extragalactic Radioastronomy Group (ERG)
The Extragalactic Radioastronomy Group at the Astronomical Observatory of Cagliari is highly focussed on the study of the astrophysics of extragalactic radio sources.
We currently conduct researches on radio galaxies, extragalactic masers, radio sources in cluster of galaxies, large-scale magnetic fields in the intergalactic medium, and radio emission from star-forming galaxies.
We made use of several international observational facilities including radio telescopes, such as the Very Large Array (VLA) or the Effelsberg 100-m single-dish, but also X-ray satellites, like Chandra and XMM.
