High Energy Astrophysics and Neutron Stars

Pulsar group.

The high-energy astrophysics and neutron star group of the Cagliari Observatory is mainly focussed on the search and study of pulsars, highly magnetized and rapidly rotating neutron stars, whose extreme characteristics make them excellent laboratories for a wide range of fundamental physics and astrophysics experiments.

The study of this peculiar class of objects is done observing and analysing data at all frequencies, from radio waves to X- and Gamma-rays.
