The SKA1 project is aiming to start the construction of the telescope in July this year. This milestone is only one of the many important milestones achieved in the last very dense couple of years, including the creation, in Feb this year, of the SKAO, the intergovernmental organisation that will run the Observatory for the next 50 years. Breve CV del Dr. Luca Stringhetti:

Luca Stringhetti si è laureato in Fisica presso l'Universitá di Milano. Dopo una prima esperienza di 8 anni nella progettazione per l'industria di antenne broadcasting, negli ultimi 18 anni ha avuto il privilegio di essere impegnato in diversi progetti coprendo il ruolo di Systems Engineer, Commissioning Manager, o Technical coordinator. Questi progetti includono la missione Planck LFI, l'Atomic Clock in Space (ACES), Il Commissioning Tecnico di SRT, ed il prototipo del Small Telescope per il progetto CTA. Attualmente copre il ruolo di SKA1 Project Engineer nel SKAO Headquarters nel Regno Unito.
