Dusty tori in active galactic nuclei
Prof. Dr. Elena Bannikova (Institute of Radio Astronomy of NAS of Ukraine
V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ucraina)
It is known that the some differences among AGNs are due to the orientation of the dusty torus with respect to the line-of-sight. Such a structure plays a key role in the feeding of the accretion disk and in supporting the hight luminosity of the central regions of active galaxies. Recent ALMA observations have resolved the obscuring torus in the nearest Sy2 galaxy NGC1068 with a detailed picture of its dynamics. We present an interpretation, based on our dynamical model of a clumpy torus, of the ALMA data coupled with observations of others bands.
