A brief look into an MHD flow

Abstract
MHD flows appear in a number of physical phenomena in a wide range of time and length scales, i. e., astrophysical and geophysical phenomena and industrial processes, to name a few. One interesting feature of this kind of phenomena is that they are visually appealing and their understanding can be applied to very many branches of science and technology. At the Renewable Energy Institute (UNAM, México), the thermosciences group has studied liquid metals and electrolytes from the experimental and theoretical point of view, and has observed very many interesting flow patterns and properties of this kind of MHD flows at laboratory scale.
