Contemporary astrophysical research has also taken on global dimensions, characterized by a volume of investments, in terms of human and financial resources, significant enough to have a considerable impact on the economic system. This impact occurs through the innovation and technology transfer processes triggered as a by-product of developing technologies for observing the Universe.
