{"id":4198,"date":"2016-03-10T17:21:00","date_gmt":"2016-03-10T16:21:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/astronomy-olympics-2016-candidates-chosen-for-the-april-final\/"},"modified":"2016-03-10T17:21:00","modified_gmt":"2016-03-10T16:21:00","slug":"astronomy-olympics-2016-candidates-chosen-for-the-april-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/en\/astronomy-olympics-2016-candidates-chosen-for-the-april-final\/","title":{"rendered":"Astronomy Olympics 2016, Candidates Chosen for the April Final"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The national finals of the Astronomy Olympics 2016 will be held at the <strong>IIS \u201cCremona\u201d<\/strong> (Scientific and Technical High School) in <strong>Milan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3150 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/riccardo_lodo.jpg\" alt=\"Astronomy Olympics 2016, candidates chosen for the April final\" width=\"72\" height=\"122\">On <strong>April 19, 20, and 21<\/strong>, the 41 finalists, boys and girls from schools all over Italy, will compete in two categories: <strong>junior<\/strong> and <strong>senior<\/strong>. Our very own, yet still very young, <strong>Riccardo Lodo<\/strong> from <strong>Liceo Scientifico Statale \u201cPitagora\u201d in Selargius (CA)<\/strong> will be part of the latter category. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Riccardo faced the interregional test held at the <strong>Cagliari Astronomical Observatory (INAF-OAC)<\/strong> last February 22, along with seven other students from all over Sardinia (read the article here). <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-3152 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/gara_ir-300x168.jpg\" alt=\"Astronomy Olympics 2016, candidates chosen for the April final\" width=\"300\" height=\"168\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/gara_ir-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/gara_ir-1024x575.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/gara_ir-768x431.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/gara_ir-1536x862.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/gara_ir.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">We want to congratulate all of them and, of course, Riccardo in particular, to whom we also wish the best of luck for the national finals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The student from Selargius won&#8217;t be alone in Milan. Sabrina Milia, a researcher at INAF-OAC, has been called to be part of the national jury, so Sardinia will also have a recognized scientific authority ensuring the success of the finals in Milan. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On April 18, 19, and 20, 2016, 41 students from all over Italy will compete in the highly anticipated final in Milan.
