{"id":3891,"date":"2017-10-19T18:29:00","date_gmt":"2017-10-19T16:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/the-astronomy-olympics-are-back\/"},"modified":"2017-10-19T18:29:00","modified_gmt":"2017-10-19T16:29:00","slug":"the-astronomy-olympics-are-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/en\/the-astronomy-olympics-are-back\/","title":{"rendered":"The Astronomy Olympics are Back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 16th edition of the Italian Astronomy Olympics is starting: this year, students enrolled in Italian schools, whether public or private, can participate regardless of nationality and citizenship, if they were born in 2001, 2002, 2003, or 2004.<\/p>\n<p>To participate, students must be registered by the schools they attend.<\/p>\n<p>Schools can register starting October 20, 2017, while student registration by the schools can take place from November 6 to 22, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The first round of the Olympics will be a Preselection Competition, which will take place at participating schools on December 4, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The topics for the Preselection Competition questionnaire, along with a preparation dossier, will be announced on October 24.<\/p>\n<p>Students who pass the Preselection can participate in the Interregional Competitions, which will take place on Monday, February 19, 2018, or Tuesday, February 20, depending on the category.<\/p>\n<p>The winners of the Interregional Competitions will compete in the National Final, which will be held in Bari from April 18 to 20, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>All information, along with the announcement and regulations, can be found on the official Olympics website: http:\/\/www.olimpiadiastronomia.it\/xvi-olimpiadi-di-astronomia\/<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The announcement for this year&#8217;s edition of the Astronomy Olympics has been released.
