{"id":3878,"date":"2019-09-08T09:45:00","date_gmt":"2019-09-08T07:45:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/condolences-for-the-death-of-gianluigi-zanetti\/"},"modified":"2019-09-08T09:45:00","modified_gmt":"2019-09-08T07:45:00","slug":"condolences-for-the-death-of-gianluigi-zanetti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/en\/condolences-for-the-death-of-gianluigi-zanetti\/","title":{"rendered":"Condolences for the Death of Gianluigi Zanetti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is with immense sadness that we learn of the tragic and sudden death of the researcher, colleague, and friend, <strong>Gianluigi Zanetti.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Gianluigi (&#8220;Zag&#8221; to his friends) worked at CRS4, where he led the Advanced Computing and Communications program and the Distributed Computing and Biomedical Computing workgroups.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years, he collaborated extensively with researchers from INAF-OAC, and was therefore well known to many of us.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I knew Gianluigi from the time of the founding of the Regional Supercomputing Consortium Cybersar,&#8221; recalls the president of INAF (and former director of INAF-OAC) Nichi D&#8217;Amico, &#8220;I always appreciated his high scientific and human level.
