Since 2009, the Astronomical Observatory of Cagliari has organized the regional and interregional phases for Sardinia of the Italian Astronomy Olympiad (for general information about the event, see the national website http:\/\/www.olimpiadiastronomia.it\/<\/a>).<\/p>\n In the 2019<\/strong> edition, students enrolled in Italian schools, both public and private, regardless of nationality and citizenship, can participate in one of the following categories based on their year of birth and the school attended:<\/p>\n Junior 1<\/strong>: students attending the third year of lower secondary school; Students will participate exclusively through their schools<\/strong>. There will be a preliminary selection test held at the schools themselves; each participating school must register on the Olympiad website by designating a teacher as the contact person, who will handle the organization of the Olympiad at the school. Schools can register from October 22 to November 23, 2018<\/strong>, while student registration<\/strong> by the schools can take place from November 6 to 23, 2018<\/strong>. <\/p>\n The preselection test<\/strong> will take place on December 4, 2018<\/strong>. The test will consist of 30 multiple-choice questions on various astronomy topics, which have been published on the Olympiad website along with the related dossier that students can use to prepare for the test (http:\/\/www.olimpiadiastronomi Students who pass the preselection will advance to the Interregional phase<\/strong>, which will take place on February 14 and 15, 2019<\/strong> at the headquarters of the Astronomical Observatory of Cagliari (via della Scienza 5, Selargius) and will consist of solving some<\/div>\n
\nJunior 2<\/strong>: born in 2004 and 2005, attending upper secondary school;
\nSenior<\/strong>: born in 2002 and 2003.<\/p>\n

\nThe winners of this phase will advance to the National Final<\/strong> which will be held in Matera from April 15 to 17, 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
