{"id":4417,"date":"2017-09-14T22:12:02","date_gmt":"2017-09-14T20:12:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/eventi\/light-in-astronomy-2017\/"},"modified":"2017-09-14T22:12:02","modified_gmt":"2017-09-14T20:12:02","slug":"light-in-astronomy-2017","status":"publish","type":"eventi","link":"https:\/\/www.oa-cagliari.inaf.it\/en\/events\/light-in-astronomy-2017\/","title":{"rendered":"Light in Astronomy 2017"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After the success of the 2015 and 2016 editions, this year the INAF-Osservatorio Astronomico di Cagliari (INAF-OAC) will also open its doors from November 14 to 17 with a special event: <strong>Light in Astronomy 2017<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>During the event, you can visit us and explore our research facility both in the morning, exclusively for schools, and in the afternoon-evening for the general public.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To book:<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/9E4wVD\"> https:\/\/goo.gl\/9E4wVD<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MORNINGS WITH SCHOOLS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The mornings of November 14, 15, 16, and 17 will be dedicated to schools, with activities equally divided by type (primary school, lower secondary school, and upper secondary school).<\/p>\n<p>Students will have the opportunity to participate in various activities, visit the museum of historical instruments, and attend a show at the Planetarium.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, the planned activities are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cEinstein and the Elastic Universe,\u201d a workshop on relativity. Organized by the association Laboratorio Scienza. Target: upper secondary school.  <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Treasure Hunt Discovering OAC,&#8221; a treasure hunt to visit the Observatory and learn about stars, planets, galaxies, and observational instruments. Target: primary school. <\/li>\n<li>&#8220;Let&#8217;s Build SRT,&#8221; a cutting and assembling activity of a cardboard model of the Sardinia Radio Telescope to discover how a radio telescope works. Target: lower secondary school. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>EVENING OPENINGS TO THE PUBLIC<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Starting from late afternoon, from 5 PM onwards, we will also welcome the general public, beginning, as always, with workshops for the little ones and a parallel visit to the museum area for those parents who want to leave the kids to play and learn in the workshops.<\/p>\n<p>Every day there will be a different workshop from the series \u201cAstrokids, Science is a Game.\u201d In particular: <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tuesday 14 \u201cNewton and the Apple that Fell on His Head\u201d<\/strong> (organized by Laboratorio Scienza), for ages 8 to 12 <strong>years;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Wednesday 15 \u201cMartina on the Planets\u201d<\/strong> (organized by Silvia Casu), for ages 7 to 10 years;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday 16 \u201cSecond Star to the Right\u201d<\/strong> (organized by Silvia Casu), for ages 7 to 10 years;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Friday 17 \u201cJourney to Jupiter with Galileo\u201d<\/strong> (organized by Laboratorio Scienza), for ages 7 to 10 years.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To book:<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/9E4wVD\"> https:\/\/goo.gl\/9E4wVD<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For adults, however, every afternoon there will be visits to the OAC museum and two events:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Wednesday 15 at 6:30 PM, Sabrina Milia will hold a conference on \u201cThe Use of Light in Astronomy,\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Thursday 16 at 6:30 PM, the Planetarium show \u201cThe Waltz of the Planets,\u201d with speaker Paolo Soletta.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>To book:<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/9E4wVD\"> https:\/\/goo.gl\/9E4wVD<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Finally, an unmissable event, the scientific theater!<\/p>\n<p><strong>IMPOSSIBLE THEATER ON STAGE AT THE OBSERVATORY: November 14 and 17 at 6:30 PM<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The collaboration between INAF-OAC and the Teatro Impossibile association is becoming more intense. On the stage of the Auditorium, the theater company led by Elio Turno Arthemalle will perform a new show titled \u201c<strong><em>Enigma Turing<\/em><\/strong>.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>The show will be staged <strong>Tuesday, November 14 at 6:30 PM <\/strong>with a repeat <strong>Friday 17 at the same time<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In this case, the show will be ticketed (\u20ac8 per person) and it will be necessary to book directly via the Teatro Impossibile email:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"mailto:prenotazioni.ti@gmail.com\">prenotazioni.ti@gmail.com<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>SCHOOL-WORK ALTERNATION WITH LICEO BROTZU OF QUARTU<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the occasion, 16 students from<strong> Liceo Brotzu di Quartu Sant\u2019Elena<\/strong> will also be part of the OAC staff as part of a School-Work Alternation project.
