Emilio Molinari appointed as new director of the INAF-OAC

The official communicate of the INAF was published on 24th of May on the website following the General Council and the President's Nichi D'Amico decisions. Molinari will replace in Cagliari the former Director Dr. Andrea Possenti.
Emilio Molinari appointed as new director of the INAF-OAC

Starting on 1st of june 2017, the Astronomical Observatory of Cagliari (INAF-OAC) has a new Director: Dr. Emilio Molinari. The official communicate of the INAF (National Institute for Astrophisics) was published on 24th of May on the website following the General Council and the President’s Nichi D’Amico decisions. Molinari will replace in Cagliari the former Director, Dr. Andrea Possenti.

Molinari, as Director of the TNG optical telescope (Telescopio Nazionale Galileo, located in La Palma, Canary Islands, Spain) participated in several research and technological projects of international relevance and since 9 years worked in the Italian technological facility placed in Spain.

All the personnel of INAF-OAC, before all, would love to say a great “THANK YOU, ANDREA!” to dr. Possenti for the great work carried out in the last six years, during a tricky period of transition for the Sardinia Radio Telescope and, of course, welcomes and congratulates the new Director making the best wishes of good luck in such an exciting position.

The future will be rich and positive for our Observatory, that will be in good hands” Declares Possenti, adding “I would to say thanks to all the staff in the INAF-OAC, they contributed with their work to the growth of our Observatory to a national and international level”.
